Fatal Shooting in The Dalles June 22; Suspect Identified and At Large

The Dalles, Ore., June 22, 2024 — Police are searching for a suspect involved in a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning , June 22 in The Dalles, OR. The suspect has been deemed armed and dangerous, according to a press release from The Dalles Police Department.
Authorities were called to the scene at 1015 Walnut Street around 12:21 a.m. on June 22, where they discovered a deceased male whose identity has yet to be released, pending family notification. Police determined that several witnesses were present at the scene but had left before they could be interviewed.
The Dalles Police have identified Noe Zaragoza, born October 21, 2001, as the suspect. His current whereabouts remain unknown.
Zaragoza is reportedly drives a champagne-colored 2012 Kia Sportage, featuring a roof rack and Oregon license plate number 555HWG. The public is advised to remain vigilant and report any sightings by calling 911 immediately. Citizens are cautioned against approaching Zaragoza due to the potential danger.
The Dalles Police Department urges anyone with information related to the shooting or the suspect's location to contact their detectives at 541-296-2233. The investigation remains active as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.
