Hood River, Ore. Oct. 17. 2024 — The annual Fill Your Pantry Market is a chance to stock up for the winter months while also supporting local farmers and producers. The Fill Your Pantry market will be open 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 3rd at the Rockford Grange.

The one-day, in-person market offers bulk quantities of fall produce like potatoes, garlic, carrots, beets, leeks, onions, and winter squash. Local producers will offer larger quantities of meat, fish, honey, flour, cheese, pickles, beans, grains, dried herbs, and other storable food items. Customers will also have a chance to learn more about proper food storage techniques.

Gorge Grown Food Network, a nonprofit organization that works to build a resilient and inclusive food system in the Gorge, and the Rockford Grange, a historic community organization committed to supporting local agriculture and small farms, coordinate the 2024 Fill Your Pantry Market.

New this year, customers using SNAP can get up to $100 extra to stock up! Gorge Grown will match SNAP EBT (formerly known as food stamps) dollar for dollar up to $100. Meaning, a shopper with SNAP can turn $100 in EBT into $200 to shop at the Fill Your Pantry Market.

Fill Your Pantry is a great way to continue eating local food throughout the fall and winter months and allows local farmers, ranchers, and producers to move larger quantities before slower winter months. This is a bulk-focused farmers market, so bring your muscles! The market will accept cash, credit, debit, and SNAP EBT. Some participating vendors will also accept Oregon’s Farm Direct Nutrition Program vouchers (WIC and senior benefits). For more information about the market, including a list of participating vendors, visit www.gorgegrown.com/fillyourpantry.
