Founders Cup Golf Tournament Nets Record Support for CGCC Students

The Dalles, Ore., Sept. 24, 2026 — The Columbia Gorge Community College (CGCC) Foundation’s annual Founders Cup Golf Tournament was an outstanding success, drawing 120 golfers to Indian Creek Golf Course in Hood River on September 12 for the Foundation’s largest scholarship fundraiser of the year.

Golfers enjoyed a beautiful day on the course, along with a silent auction featuring 19 items and a raffle offering a dozen prizes, all contributing to the tournament’s fundraising total. All proceeds from the event will directly fund needs-based scholarships for CGCC students, helping remove financial barriers to a college education.

“The Founders Cup reflects the generosity and commitment of this community. Every golfer, volunteer, donor, and sponsor helps open the door to a CGCC education for students who need that support most”, said Dr. Kenneth Lawson, CGCC President.

The Founders Cup has become a cornerstone of the Foundation’s fundraising efforts, bringing together local businesses, community members, and CGCC supporters each fall. This year’s turnout reflects the strength of that community partnership and its shared commitment to student success in the Columbia River Gorge.

The CGCC Foundation extends its gratitude to all golfers, volunteers, sponsors, and donors who made the day possible. Final fundraising totals will be announced once available.
