The Dalles, Ore., Nov. 3, 2026 — An afternoon of classical and contemporary music will help support local homeless services when The Dalles pianist and organist Garry Estep performs a free benefit concert Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Christian Science Society in The Dalles.
The concert begins at noon at 701 Washington St. and will feature piano and organ selections from composers including Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Erik Satie, Gabriel Fauré, Philip Glass and Richard Rodgers. Estep also promises a surprise guest performer.
Admission is free, and the Christian Science Society will match all donations collected during the event, doubling contributions to support community programs serving people experiencing homelessness.
The fundraiser will benefit efforts associated with the Mid-Columbia Community Action Council and St. Vincent de Paul in The Dalles, which provide assistance to individuals and families facing poverty and housing instability.
According to event organizers, donations will help support services for unhoused veterans, families with children, wildfire recovery efforts and multiple shelter programs.
The organizations work to prevent and alleviate poverty and homelessness through community partnerships and programs designed to assist vulnerable residents.
Estep is encouraging community members to attend, enjoy the music and contribute to the effort.
The concert is open to the public, with no admission charge.
