Goldendale to Pursue Creative District Certification: Townhall Meeting Scheduled

Goldendale to Pursue Creative District Certification: Townhall Meeting Scheduled

From The Greater Goldendale Area Chamber of Commerce:

Goldendale, Wa. Aug. 27, 2024 — The Greater Goldendale Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce a pivotal town hall meeting aimed at achieving the aspiration of having Goldendale officially recognized and certified by the State of Washington as a Creative District. This certification promises significant potential for economic development, job creation, and community revitalization.

“This is something that the Goldendale Chamber and it’s Art At the Heart of Goldendale Committee has been exploring for quite some time. We are excited to finally move forward with this project with this Townhall.” Sandra Choate, Committee Chair for Art At the Heart of Goldendale.

This ambitious initiative requires the active participation and support of all community sectors, including elected officials, economic development agencies, local businesses, school districts, social services, regional planning agencies, tribal government, artists, creatives, and the general public.

The first step in this journey is a meeting with Annette Roth from the Washington State Arts Commission, who will provide an introduction and explanation of the Creative Districts program. Ms. Roth will join us remotely from Olympia on Thursday, September 5, at 6:00 pm.

While attendees are encouraged to attend in person at the Camplan Room of the Goldendale Library, those who wish to attend virtually can contact The Goldendale Chamber or The Goldendale Community Library for a Zoom link.

We hope to see you there and look forward to your valuable participation in this transformative endeavor.
