Goldendale will host its first ever LGBTQ+ pride event on Saturday, July 31st from 5 PM - 9 PM at The Dirty Cowgirl restaurant!

The event comes not long after anti-LGBTQ vandalism prompted Goldendale’s first openly gay city councilor Andrew Halm, to give away free pride flags to his community for Pride month and put together a team to help plan Goldendale’s first ever Pride event.

“I get emotional thinking about Goldendale’s first Pride. Ten years ago after coming out, I could only dream about Pride in Goldendale and now it’s happening!” said Halm. “My heart is truly happy knowing that this event is finally happening right here in my home town!”

Halm wanted to extend special thanks to the Dirty Cowgirl and the team helping to plan this year’s Pride event: Kory Geddes, Skylar Liam Newkirk, Kent Apostol, Kurt Ross, Sarah Bartell, and Gabriel Kieren Ogle.

“This all started out as putting up a small sign of Pride in Goldendale, then turned into handing out free Pride flags, and then we finished Pride month with a small group dreaming about a Pride event in Goldendale!” said Halm, “And now that dream is happening! So much thanks goes out to Kory, Larissa, Skylar, Kurt, Kent, Sarah, and Gabe that helped put this event together in just a months time! They are all amazing and it’s been a true honor working with them!!”

Andrew Halm is excited to be celebrating Pride in his community for the first time ever.

The group is looking forward to celebrating the LGBTQ+ community of Goldendale by honoring diversity and creating a safe and welcoming environment for local lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer-identified individuals and their allies.

The social event is family-friendly and open to all ages.

The event will include food, music, games, and a raffle drawing.
Proceeds of the raffle will go towards funding future Goldendale Pride events and local groups.

Early attendees will receive a free bracelet and beads (supply limited).

LGBTQ+ community members and allies, as well as local businesses and organizations supporting the LGBTQ+ community, are encouraged to participate.
