Gorge Commission Announces Event Line Up for Gorge Latino Conservation Week

White Salmon, WA, July 14, 2023– The Columbia River Gorge Commission and their community partners will host several events for Gorge Latino Conservation Week from Thursday, July 20th through Saturday, July 22nd.
Events include a writer talk, hike, panel discussion on environmental and social justice issues,, food, and information booths.
“Latino Conservation Week was established to break down barriers for Latino communities to access the outdoors, encourage new opportunities for engagement, and inspire the next generation of environmental stewards,” read the invitation from the Gorge Commission.
The Event Schedule:
Thursday, July 20th, at 5:30 p.m. at White Salmon Library: Conversation with Guatemalan writer and poet Jacobo Payes.
Friday, July 21st. at 5:00 p.m., at Riverside Community Church in Hood River: Local panel discussion, food, and community organization information booths.
Saturday, July 22nd, at 9:00 a.m., Catherine Creek Trailhead: Hike with U.S. Forest Service and Friends of the Columbia Gorge.
