The Dalles, July 15, 2023 - Locals were getting after it early this morning in a move to beat the heat that will soon be lifted from the street.

We found Eric Bartholomew finishing his 12-mile circuit ride on his bicycle pumping up E. 16th Street after a ride along the cool Columbia. The 65-year-old from The Dalles said mornings were good for taking advantage of lower temperatures and also beating down that second adversary - the wind, a rough opponent to push against.

The Dalles High School Riverhawk Cheerleaders are holding their annual yard sale today, July 15 and Sunday, July 16, as a means of raising funds for cheerleading camp.

Just down the street at The Dalles High School the Riverhawk Cheerleaders were holding their annual group yard sale as families put out their best seconds in a push to fund cheerleading camp set to begin in August. They have a lively patronage this morning as folks went through clothing and other items. The Yard sale is both today, July 15 and Sunday, July 16 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bring your sunscreen.

Kathy Sandoz is all of summer at The Dalles Farmer’s Market. Her abundant table called out a half block away.

Just a couple of blocks away, The Dalles Farmers Market was plump with apricots.

From a distance, you would have sworn they were peaches, but it’s too early for peaches.

Kathy Sandoz was selling the mammoth fruit for $6 a box. And word must have gotten out as many locals could be seen stopping in and or walking to the market.

The Market is located at City Park at 5th and Union streets and is open until 1 p.m. today, July 15.

These Pilgrims of The Dalles Farmer’s Market were all smiles this morning while enjoying a little break in the shade on West Fourth Street. Early bird gets the grub and a photo in CCCNews. Happy Saturday to all!
