The Dalles, Ore., Oct. 30, 2026 — Halloween came a little early to The Dalles on Thursday evening, Oct. 29, as families dressed in costumes filled the parking lot at Columbia Gorge Toyota and Honda for an evening of candy, games, and Halloween fun.

The dealership hosted its free Trunk or Treat celebration from 5 to 7 p.m. at 1900 W. Sixth St., drawing a large crowd of children, parents and community members eager to celebrate the spooky season.

From pint-sized superheroes and princesses to some of Halloween's most recognizable horror movie villains, costumes of all kinds were on display as children made their way from vehicle to vehicle, collecting candy from elaborately decorated trunks.

Some vehicles featured spooky skeletons, cobwebs and ghosts, while others offered colorful displays, including a Día de los Muertos-themed trunk decorated with bright orange balloons and traditional artwork.

There was plenty to keep families entertained beyond trick-or-treating. Children enjoyed bounce houses, face painting, fresh popcorn, and other treats throughout the evening.

A costume contest offering a $100 grand prize added another element of excitement to the celebration.

As the evening sun dipped behind the Columbia Gorge hills, the dealership parking lot remained filled with families enjoying the festivities and showing off their creative costumes.

The event provided a chance for neighbors, friends and families to gather for a free, family-friendly Halloween celebration just two days before Halloween.

With plenty of candy, creative costumes and smiling faces, Thursday's Trunk or Treat brought a little extra Halloween spirit to The Dalles.
