Here's What's Happening in The Dalles This Fourth of July
The Dalles, Ore., June 30, 2026 — From an early morning run to a fireworks finale over the Columbia River, The Dalles will celebrate Independence Day with a full slate of events Saturday as the community marks America's 250th anniversary.
This year's celebration combines longtime Fourth of July traditions with several new events organized through a partnership between Fort Dalles Fourth, The Dalles Main Street, The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of The Dalles and numerous community organizations.
6:30 a.m. — Rocket Run Registration
The day begins at Lewis & Clark Festival Park with registration for the Rocket Run at 6:30 a.m. Participants can choose between 3K, 5K and 10K courses, with races beginning at 7 a.m. The annual fundraiser is organized by local running volunteers and benefits youth athletics.
8 a.m. — Free Breakfast and Yoga
Following the run, the community is invited to enjoy a free breakfast sponsored by McDonald's of the Gorge before stretching out during free Yoga in the Park led by Pure Yoga instructors. Organizers say both activities are open to everyone.
10 a.m. — Fourth of July Parade
The annual Fourth of July Parade, presented by The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce, begins at 10 a.m. and will once again feature community groups, businesses, decorated vehicles and patriotic displays through downtown.
Following the Parade — Patriotic Music and Downtown Fun
After the parade, the Gorge Winds Concert Band will perform near the Chamber of Commerce.
New this year, visitors can also participate in Downtown Discovery Bingo, hosted by The Dalles Main Street. Players will visit participating businesses, collect stamps and become eligible for prizes while exploring downtown shops and restaurants.
5 p.m. — Festival Park Celebration
The evening festivities begin at 5 p.m. at Lewis & Clark Festival Park with a Beer Garden featuring:
Freebridge Brewing
Double Mountain Brewery
Everybody's Brewing
Backwoods Brewing Company
Solera Brewery
Ferment Brewing
The celebration will feature dozens of local vendors, artisan booths, food vendors, children's activities and a beer garden featuring regional breweries. Visitors can browse handcrafted goods ranging from jewelry and yard art to candles, tumblers and specialty foods while enjoying food truck favorites, including Indian tacos and fresh sourdough.
Live music will continue throughout the evening with performances by Whipsaw, The Strange Tones and That '90s Band. Organizers say the entertainment was selected to appeal to a wide range of ages and musical tastes.
10 p.m. — Fireworks Over the Columbia
The day concludes with the Fort Dalles Fourth fireworks show beginning at 10 p.m.
The approximately 20-minute display will be synchronized to music and launched from a barge on the Columbia River by Western Display Fireworks. Organizers say it remains one of the largest Independence Day fireworks shows in the region.
Community Tradition
Fort Dalles Fourth has organized the community fireworks display since reviving the tradition in 2014 after The Dalles went more than 20 years without a public Fourth of July fireworks show. Committee members say the event is made possible through donations, sponsorships and hundreds of volunteer hours throughout the year.
Organizers are still accepting donations to support future fireworks displays and are seeking additional volunteers to assist during the celebration.
