Honda with three flat tires after spike strip deployment, goes six miles before stopping

The Dalles, Ore., April 13, 2026 — A 22-year-old woman was arrested early Saturday after allegedly attempting to elude law enforcement during a pursuit that ended in The Dalles, authorities said.

The incident began around 12:30 a.m. April 11, when Oregon State Police troopers responded to assist deputies from the Wasco County Sheriff’s Office who were pursuing a black Honda Civic.

According to Lt. Jason Calloway of Oregon State Police, troopers were asked to position themselves to deploy spike strips before the vehicle could reenter The Dalles. The tire-deflation devices were successfully deployed near Seven Mile Road and Chenowith Road, puncturing three of the vehicle’s tires.

Despite the damage, the driver continued for approximately six more miles before the Honda came to a stop near the intersection of West Sixth Street and Cherry Heights Road, close to Fred Meyer.

Authorities said no injuries were reported during the pursuit.

The driver, identified as Mackaleigh Lagao, 22, was taken into custody by the Wasco County Sheriff’s Office. Further details about potential charges were not immediately available.

Lagao was not in custody at NORCOR jail this afternoon, April 13.
