Hood River Athletes Shine at Special Olympics Oregon Summer State Games

Hood River, Ore. July 19, 2024 — After 7 long years, Special Olympics Oregon offered the SUMMER STATE GAMES at Oregon State University July 12-14th.  

Hood River local program had 6 athletes attend the exciting weekend for track and field and one Unified Partner team for bocce.  

The team enjoyed an action-packed weekend of state-level competitions with over 1,000 athletes present. 

Hood River athletes competed in the 50m, 100m, and 200m dash, 4x100m relay, shotput, softball throw, and standing long jump.... bringing home 4 gold medals, 4 silver, and 1 bronze.  

 We are extremely proud of our local athletes for the dedication and training required to compete at this level.
