The Dalles, Ore., July 11, 2026 — The Hood River County Fair will return July 22-25 at the Hood River County Fairgrounds, bringing together community members from across the county to celebrate the hard work, accomplishments and talents of local 4-H and FFA youth.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore livestock barns featuring cattle, horses, sheep, goats, swine, rabbits, poultry and cavies while watching exhibitors compete in showmanship and conformation classes. Throughout the week, youth will demonstrate the skills, responsibility and dedication they have developed through months of caring for and preparing their animals.

In addition to livestock exhibits, fairgoers can view a wide variety of static projects showcasing the creativity and talents of local youth. Exhibits include photography, sewing, baking, arts and crafts, woodworking, gardening and other projects completed throughout the year.

Whether a longtime fair supporter or a first-time visitor, attendees will find something for everyone at the Hood River County Fair. Community members are encouraged to stroll through the barns, visit the exhibit halls, cheer on exhibitors and experience one of Hood River County's favorite summer traditions.

"The 4-H participants have been working hard all year. At the county fair, they showcase their work to the community, and we get to celebrate everything that makes Hood River County special," said Grace Wesson, Hood River County 4-H outreach program coordinator.

"4-H is all about learning by doing across a wide range of subject areas, building confidence, self-efficacy and a growth mindset. We are so proud to work with creative 4-H members who have taken on all kinds of projects, from raising cattle to floral design to STEM."

Hood River 4-H currently serves 175 youth members during the 2025-26 program year and is supported by 40 volunteers who share their time, knowledge and skills with local youth. Together, they help create meaningful learning experiences and lasting impacts within the community. The fair provides participants opportunities to develop leadership, communication, responsibility and other life skills while sharing their accomplishments with the public.

Community members are invited to attend the fair July 22-25 and celebrate the achievements of Hood River County's youth. Additional information, schedules and event details are available on the Hood River County Fair website.
