Hot footing it to the drop box; 7 days left in May Primary; Wasco County at 14.3 %

Wasco County, Ore., May 15, 2024 - Wasco County voters continue to turn in ballots for the May 21 Primary election with 2,661 returned as of Tuesday, May 14, according to Chief Deputy County Clerk Chrissy Zaugg.
There are just 7 days left to make your choices and turn them in.
“The last day for voters to return their ballot is election day, May 21,” according to the Clerk’s office. “Ballots that are mailed must be postmarked on or before Election Day. Ballots deposited in an official drop box must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day. Unofficial election results will be released at 8 p.m., and the final count for the evening is typically around midnight.

May 14, 2024, turnout is 14.3% with 2661 ballots received
In May 2022, turnout was 13.17% with 2406 ballots received
In May 2020, turnout was 19.65% with 3451 ballots received
According to the Oregon Secretary of State, as of May 2024, there are currently 18,809 registered voters in Wasco County, a 215 voter (1.16%) increase compared to May of 2023.
Of those voters, 7,503 are registered as non-affiliated, 5,047 as Republicans, 4,931 as Democrats, and 896 as Independent voters in Wasco County. In addition, there are 144 Libertarian, 140 Other, 41 Constitution, 41 Working Families, 37 Pacific Green, 15 Progressive, and 14 No Labels registered voters in Wasco County.

Oregon has a party called the Independent Party of Oregon, and it has its own candidates and primaries, just like Republicans or Democrats.
"Non-affiliated" voters in Oregon means that those voters are not members of any political party.
