HR City Council Adopts $63.9 Million Budget, grants $400K for housing development
Hood River, Ore. June 17, 2025 — The Hood River City Council adopted its 2025-26 city budget during its June 9 meeting, approving more than $63.9 million in appropriations across all funds for the upcoming fiscal year.
Transportation System Plan (TSP) Update:
Contract approved with DKS Associates for $267,000. Funding breakdown: $175,000 from an ODOT TGM grant, and $92,000 from city’s general and transportation funds.
Asbestos Abatement at 780 Rand Road:
Approved $23,060 contract with PBS Engineering and Environmental Inc. for abatement and demolition prep at the housing site.
Supplemental Budget – $750,000 Loan Transfer:
Council authorized a temporary $750,000 loan from the Equipment Reserve Fund to the Transportation Fund to address cash flow while awaiting reimbursement grants.
Urban Renewal Agency Budget:
The Hood River Urban Renewal Agency adopted a $3.5 million budget focused on improvements in the Heights and Waterfront areas.
Downtown Parking Fund Amendment:
Council increased budget authority by $92,000, funded by existing reserves, to support downtown maintenance and improvements.
There were no public comments opposing the budget or spending items.
