Indian Creek Poetry Walk seeks poems for 2027 trail display

Hood River, Ore. — Organizers of the Indian Creek Poetry Walk are seeking submissions from Mid-Columbia Gorge poets for the 2027 installation along the popular 4.5-mile trail in Hood River.
The 2027 Poetry Walk will feature 20 poems displayed along sections of the trail from April through September, combining the area's natural setting with poetry inspired by the region.
Submissions are open to poets who live in or have roots in the Mid-Columbia Gorge. Poems must be nature-themed and reflect the culture, history or character of the region.
Poems may not exceed 20 lines, and poets may submit up to three works. There is no entry fee, and previously published poems are eligible.
A panel of judges will select the poems through a blind jury process.
Poets should submit each poem as an individual PDF attached to a brief email to gorgepoetrywalk@gmail.com. The poet's name should be included in the email but should not appear on the poem document.
The submission deadline is Nov. 1, 2026.
Selected poets agree to allow their work to be displayed along the trail. Poetry Walk signs may also be reused in future years or auctioned to help fund future installations.
The Indian Creek Poetry Walk is a collaboration between the Hood River County Library District and Hood River Valley Parks and Recreation District.
