TD Kiwanis seize their one day at Sorosis

On the chilly and clear afternoon of October 31, a group of enthusiastic members of the Kiwanis Club of The Dalles gathered at Sorosis Park for Kiwanis One Day, an annual day of service for Kiwanis clubs around the world.

With brushes in-hand, Kiwanis members spent the beautiful afternoon enjoying the camaraderie and sealing picnic tables and benches at the barbecue area at Sorosis Park. The project has been long-needed at the popular gathering site; the site of the local Kiwanis’ annual Steak Feed fundraiser, which was canceled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kiwanis One Day was technically scheduled for October 24, but The Dalles club postponed due to weather.

The Kiwanis Club of The Dalles participates in many local projects that serve the community, especially its children, including the library summer reading program, high school and art center scholarships, holiday bell ringing and toy drive, books for Head Start, park projects, and more.

The club, which meets weekly, is always looking for new members who are interested in bettering their community. To learn more, visit https://www.thedalleskiwanis.org/ or call 541-296-6713.  ###
