Local shoots the rare double eagle

The Dalles, Ore., Nov. 10, 2025 — Mike Nagle shot this double eagle over the weekend while overlooking The Dalles.

That’s not nearly as rare as the hole in one on a par 4, but Nagle was happy to drive this shot of the resting big birdies with his favorite tree wood.

Groan.

Temperatures in The Dalles are expected to hold in the 50s during the day and drop into the upper 30s and low 40s at night this week, according to the National Weather Service.

Light fog and partly sunny conditions will start the week, but rain chances increase sharply beginning Wednesday, with showers likely each day through Saturday and precipitation probabilities ranging from 60 to 90 percent.
