The Dalles, Ore., Nov. 9, 2025 — The Dalles Public Library will offer movie nights, crafts, art programs, study sessions, live performances, and a virtual author talk throughout November. Below is a chronological listing of upcoming events.

Monday, Nov. 10

Superhero Movie Night

4:30 p.m. — Teens & Adults
A screening of a 2025 superhero release featuring a beloved hero and his dog. Popcorn and soda provided in the Teen Room. Rated PG-13.

Thursday, Nov. 13

Puppet Craft Workshop: Paper Bag Puppets

6 p.m. — Kids
A musical mini-puppet show followed by a craft where kids can make and take home paper bag puppets. Held every second Thursday.

The Search for Truth and the Persistence of Love Across Time — Virtual Author Talk with Amanda Peters

4–5 p.m. — Teens & Adults
A virtual discussion with author Amanda Peters about her novel The Berry Pickers and her short-fiction collection Waiting for the Long Night Moon.
Registration required.

An Evening of Cowboy Music & Poetry

6–7:30 p.m. — All Ages
Duane Nelson and Coyote Joe Sartin return with cowboy poetry, music and storytelling. Free event in the Main Library. Light refreshments served.

Friday, Nov. 14

Fun Fridays: Spaghetti Towers

3 p.m. — Kids
This week's after-school challenge invites children to build spaghetti towers. Part of the library’s weekly Fun Fridays series.

Late Night Study Session

6:15–9 p.m. — Teens & Adults (TDHS & CGCC Students)
An after-hours study session offering full library access, snacks and a quiet environment the Friday before finals week. Dinner provided.

Saturday, Nov. 15

RPG Drop-In: Tabletop Role-Playing Games

10 a.m. — Tweens, Teens & Adults
A drop-in tabletop RPG session for ages 10 and up. No ongoing storyline; participants can join at any time. Refreshments provided.

Embroidery with Steph Evans — Take & Make

10 a.m.–noon — Teens & Adults
A hands-on embroidery workshop in the Meeting Room.
Registration required; ages 11+.

Art with Ellen

1–3 p.m. — Teens & Adults
Native American contemporary artist Ellen Taylor leads a guided art project in the Meeting Room.
