MCEDD seeks public input on Regional Public Transit System
From Mid-Columbia Economic Development (MCEDD):
Mid-Columbia Gorge Region, including Skamania, Klickitat, Sherman, Wasco, Hood River counties –Residents throughout the Columbia River Gorge rely on transit services to get to key destinations like work, school, and healthcare. The Mid-Columbia Economic Development District (MCEDD) is leading a process to make accessing transit in the gorge easier and better coordinated - for both local residents and visitors.
MCEDD is now seeking public input on opportunities to create a regional transit system in the Gorge with an online public open house – open now through November 27, 2022. The online open house includes a map that includes new and expanded services and destinations. The survey gives residents the opportunity to add to or modify that map.
The Gorge Regional Transit Strategy
The Gorge Regional Transit Strategy is a planning process facilitated by MCEDD. The first phase, completed in 2021, strengthened regional partnerships to develop a collective vision for regional public transit. MCEDD is now leading the second phase, which includes looking at current travel trends and destination needs and developing strategies to achieve the vision.
