Music to our ears: Candice Norton and Mic Kelly wed on July 8 in HR

By the bride’s father, Alan Norton and Robin Leineke

This lovely couple was quite fortunate to meet online during the COVID-19 pandemic when it was next to impossible to meet anyone.

Their hearts were truly meant to be together.

Candice Norton and Mic Kelly were trying to get married last year, but the spillover from Covid came and she couldn't find anything suitable for their wedding location.

After her long search of all the local possibilities, she finally found a place for a wedding this year that was an old Search and Rescue center near Pine Grove in Hood River. That's why it had a weird name... 'Crag Rat Hut' as in the guys who are on the Crags and cliffs of big mountains rescuing the climbers that get stuck or injured.

This was a place where the bottom floor was full of display cases of climbing gear, etc. However, the Upper floor was big, full of windows and sliding glass doors all looking out at the beautiful view of vineyards and a panoramic view of Mt. Hood and it even included a patio!

The place made its income on weddings so they had a nice kitchen also.

The couple were married on July 8th, 2023
