The Dalles, Ore., May 16, 2024 - Mauro Faulha, 28, from Portugal, recently made the trip to the United States from the Azore Islands as he and his pit crew are preparing to get this Hyundai Rally Ready for the Oregon Trail Rally set to take place this weekend in and around both Goldendale and The Dalles.
The crew was putting the #176 Hyundai i20N Rally2 together in the vacant gravel parking lot between Rebecca Street Physical Therapy and the former Tacos Del Rio on Fourth Street in The Dalles.
Driver John Conye & Co-Driver Eoin Treacy out of Laguna Beach California will be navigating this vehicle and according to them, they are going to be a team to watch this year.
Not only was John the American Rally Association RC2 Champion in 2022, he is also the founder of the Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy which develops young Irish Athletes to reach the highest levels of world rally competition such as his Co-Driver, Eoin, who is an academy athlete himself.
The weekend of May 18-19, 2024 will see the running of the 2024 edition of the Oregon Trail car rally event in Klickitat and Wasco Counties. Various roads along the route of the rally will be temporarily closed to public access and traffic control signage will be in place.

Saturday, May 18th Klickitat County
Dalles Mountain Rd will be closed from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, from 12:40 PM to 3:40 PM and again from 4:40 PM to 8:00 PM
Oak Flat Rd will be closed from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and again from 2:20 PM to 5:00 PM
Maryhill Loops Road will be closed from 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM and again from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM
Other county roads traveled, but not closed include Centerville HWY, State HWY 14, US HWY 97, Columbus Ave, Bickleton, Centerville, Hoctor, Roosevelt Ave, and Simcoe Dr.
Sunday, May 19th Wasco County
Hastings Ridge Rd will be closed from a point approximately 2 miles Southeast from Fax Rd. to Steuber Rd will be closed from 8:20 AM to 4:30 PM
Steuber Rd will be closed from a point approximately 2 miles Southeast of Adkisson Rd. to Hastings Ridge Rd. These closures will occur from 8:20 AM to 4:30 PM
Fax Rd will be closed from Ward Rd to Mason Rd from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and from 1:15 PM to 4:45 PM
Mason Rd will be closed from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and from 1:10 PM to 4:45 PM
Endersby Cutoff Rd will be closed from 10:25 AM to 1:45 PM and from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM
Ward Mill Rd will be closed from 10:45 AM to 1:15 PM and from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM
Roberts Market Road from Emerson Loop Rd to 15 Mile Road will be closed from 9:35 AM to 1:00 PM and from 1:40 PM to 5:15 PM
Other Wasco county roads traveled on Sunday, but not closed include HWY 197, Emerson Loop, Ward Rd, Wrentham Market, Boyd Market, Eightmile, Dufur Valley, Kelly Cutoff, Heimrich, NE 1st, and Main Street in Dufur.
