NORCOR corrections deputy arrested on allegations of misconduct, sex abuse

The Dalles, Ore., Feb. 8, 2024, — Local corrections Deputy Josue Perez was arrested in The Dalles and booked at Northern Oregon Regional Corrections (NORCOR), after a warrant was issued for his arrest following an indictment by a Wasco County Grand Jury.
Perez was taken into custody without incident and is currently being housed in Umatilla County. He is being held on charges of Custodial Sexual Misconduct in the first and second degree, as well as Official Misconduct in the first degree and Sex Abuse III.
The arrest comes after a nearly five-and-a-half-month-long criminal investigation into alleged misconduct complaints against Perez.
Perez was immediately placed on administrative leave by NORCOR in August of 2023 when the allegations were reported. Perez has been employed as a corrections deputy at NORCOR since January 2022.
The case was investigated by the Wasco County Sheriff’s Office and referred to the Wasco County District Attorney’s Office. Any inquiries regarding the investigation or charges should be directed to the Wasco County District Attorney’s Office.
NORCOR is a regional jail located in The Dalles, Oregon. The facility, which includes both adult and juvenile detention serves Hood River, Wasco, Sherman, and Gilliam Counties.
