October 15: Candlelight Vigil in The Dalles to Raise Awareness for Domestic Violence

October 15: Candlelight Vigil in The Dalles to Raise Awareness for Domestic Violence

From HAVEN from Domestic and Sexual Violence:

By Marcee Kukal Manning

The Dalles, Ore. Oct. 10, 2024 — October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Please join HAVEN and the Wasco County Domestic Violence Council for " An Evening of Light" candlelight vigil.

This is an event to bring light to the tragedy and trauma of Domestic Violence in our community. We will come together to honor survivors, announce the 2024 Passion Award winner, and award the "Angelica Mendoza Memorial Award". An Evening of Light will take place on October 15, 2024, at 6 p.m. at Sorosis Park (under the pavilion) in The Dalles, Oregon. The event is open to the public. We hope anyone whose life has been impacted by domestic violence, and those supporting survivors in our community can come and build a community around such a pervasive issue.

We are all part of the solution to end domestic violence. Domestic Violence flourishes in the shadows and it is time to shine a light on DV and end it. We hope to see you at the vigil to support survivors and the people doing work in our community to end cycles of violence.
