The Dalles Ore., July 9, 2024 — As temperatures are expected to go as high as 113 degrees, making it one of the hottest days of the year, residents flocked to the splash pit at Aquatics - Northern Wasco County Parks & Recreation to cool off.

Children were already enjoying themselves, laughing and playing in the water. With the heat wave in full effect, the splash pit is the perfect place for families to find relief from the oppressive heat.

Due to the forecasted extreme heat on Tuesday, July 9, the pool will close when the heat index rises above 104º. Depending on conditions we may reopen later in the day, Northern Wasco County Parks and Rec. announced.

As the summer continues, planning a trip to the splash pit offers a refreshing escape from the high temperatures and ensures a fun-filled day for everyone.
