Poker night for Luis Flores
Bargeway Pub in The Dalles will hold a poker night and silent auction to help the spouse of an employee that recently suffered a debilitating loss which has him relearning how to walk.
Dubbed, Poker Night for Luis, the event is set for Saturday, Jan. 14, starting at 6 p.m.
There are a total of 64 spots in the poker tournament and more than 40 have already been filled, according to Bargeway’s Steve Kane on Tuesday, Jan. 10. The silent auction is open to all. So even if you’re not playing, stop by the event site at Bargeway and make a bid and check out the action.
Proceeds from this fundraising event will go toward Luis Flores, the spouse of Bargeway Employee Claudia Flores. Luis has been beset by recent medical issues and accompanying bills. The night will include a silent auction, with items donated by dozens of local businesses. To get a spot at the table, call Steve at 541-980-7106 for buy-in information and registration. Cyndi Camp of Cupcakes by Cyndi has been organizing the donations. She has been busy.
Camp said the Auction will be open for about 2 hours.
Only cash or check are being accepted so that money can go directly to Claudia & Luis
“If you don’t want to play in the poker tournament, please stop by Bargeway Pub have a cocktail or two, have some dinner and wander over to the event space to see what 32 local businesses have donated,” Camp wrote on her Facebook page.
