The Dalles, Ore. October 3, 2023 - Mid-Columbia Economic Development District (MCEDD) invites everyone to attend the 2023 Columbia Gorge Annual Economic Symposium on Friday, November 3rd at the Pavilion at the Port of Cascade Locks Marine Park from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The event brings together leaders across the region in the areas of government, economic development, workforce development, and business to learn together and network.

This year’s event features renowned Keynote Speaker, Futurist Steve Brown, speaking about “Navigating the Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Revolution: A survival guide for leaders in the Era of Intelligence.”

Steve Brown is a leading expert on generative AI, autonomous AI assistants, digital transformation, the future of work, and how advances in AI will shape the future of education, business, and society. He draws upon his decades of experience in artificial intelligence and high tech to advise companies on how to build winning AI transformation strategies that fuel innovation, boost productivity, and drive growth.

The Symposium will also include a panel representing a range of different key industries in the region to discuss their challenges and opportunities. Panelists so far include Skamania Lodge, Orchard View Farms, Full Sail Brewing, and Insitu, with more planned. As always, the event includes presentations about local economic conditions and excellent networking.

“We are excited to be able to bring Steve Brown to the region as our keynote this year, and hope it inspires more people to attend,” said Jessica Metta, MCEDD Executive Director. “People always tell us they love the networking part of the event the best!” Pastries and other refreshments are included in the $20 ticket. Scholarships are available if the ticket price is a barrier to attending.

This event is sponsored by East Cascades Works, The Dalles Area Chamber of Commerce, NW Natural, Umpqua Bank, and the U.S. Economic Development Administration. Register for the event or find more information at www.mcedd.org/symposium.
