Columbia Basin Care welcomes Sean Hardwick as Director of Environmental Services

THE DALLES, OREGON — Columbia Basin Care is pleased to announce that Sean Hardwick is now Director of Environmental Services, overseeing all the facility’s safety, maintenance, and housekeeping staff for nearly 60 residents. Located in The Dalles, Oregon, Columbia Basin Care is the region's only independent, nonprofit care facility for short-stay recovery and long-term care.

Sean began his career at the age of 12, working as a painter for his dad’s painting company. While In school he took mechanics, auto shop, woodworking shop, and any class where he could nurture his creativity.

Raised in Southern California, Sean’s family decided to move to The Dalles in 2004 where his dad re-established his business. Sean extended his skills by learning a variety of new ones while working in home improvement and construction, including flooring, framing, windows, and fencing, then management. Branching out, Sean went into technology where he gained his self-described “tech-savvy” skills while working on commercial and residential installations and trouble calls for television, internet, and telephone.

“I’ve literally taught myself how to work on anything,” says Sean. “I’m a creative person and particularly like working with wood.” Before coming to Columbia Basin Care, Sean spent time overseeing the maintenance of another healthcare facility. According to him, he chose to work at CBC because “The morale in this building is amazing. You can tell behind the masks that everyone is smiling.”

Columbia Basin Care’s Executive Director, Aubree Schreiner says, “We are very grateful that Sean has decided to join our team. He is a great resource and is willing to tackle any project with a can-do attitude and a smile.”
