Shannon's Trivia: Name this car; better yet put 13 clowns in it

Shannon's Trivia: Name this car; better yet put 13 clowns in it

By Tom Peterson with photos and background from John Foley

The Dalles, Ore., June 7, 2024 — We got a three-wheeler of a question for you this week.

Fuel efficiency has always been top of mind for those of us most frugal - this little gem above was photographed in The Dalles in 1959, and it would go 78 miles on a gallon of fuel - on flat ground, assuredly. We doubt The Dalles topography brought that kind of mileage.

Ok, puzzlers, tell us the make and model of the vehicle and send your answer to tom@cccnews.com by Sunday, June 9 at 7:23 p.m. Hint: the recently retired City of The Dalles Clerk shares almost the same name with the car.

All correct answers will be entered into a raffle for a $25 gift card to Shannon’s Ice Cream. The winner will be revealed on Monday, June 10.

Bonus Points and Gold Stars

For kicks bragging rights and the recognition of being omniscient, tell us who is standing next to the vehicle.

And for you Trivia Master Blasters Brain Outcasters - tell us who won the car in a giveaway. Hint- it rhymes with Gob Bodier.

Shannon delivering the trivia and cool delights. Shannon’s Ice Cream 318 E. Fourth Street, scooping the dream daily from noon to 9 p.m. It’s across the street from the Civic Auditorium. Look for the boneshaker out front.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

Congratulations Lori Urban! She was our Humdinger winner several weeks ago.

“I lived in The Dalles from 1965 until after college 1984,” Lori told us. “My parents lived there until their deaths in 2012 and 2013.  Robert and Barbara Vincent.  I was one of the few Chenowith kids who went to school from first grade through 12th, graduating WHS in 1979.  We have a big all school Reunion coming up October 12, 2024.  My sister's class of 1969, I believe was the first to start as a freshman at WHS and graduate 1969.”
