Shannon's Trivia: Can you piece this log puzzler together

Shannon's Trivia: Can you piece this log puzzler together

Hey, Puzzler - Do you know the address on this one? Send it to us at tom@cccnews.com

By Tom Peterson

The Dalles, Ore., Sept. 27, 2024 — Are we at Mt. Hood or in The Dalles?

Put on your flannel shirt and sharpen your axe, because this may come to a loggerhead and leave everyone stumped.

This gem above looks like the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln.

But it’s not.

This little log cabin sits squarely in Les Dalles.

Minimally, what we want to know is: where?

Run a file along the teeth of your crosscut saw and put a new edge on your double bit axe and start notching this one out.

You can go block by block and splice, spline and taper this one together.

And when you whittle it down to an address, send your answer to tom@cccnews.com by 4:13 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29.

And if you want to swing like Paul Bunyon tell us what year it was built.

And if you can pull like Babe, the Blue Ox, tell us who originally lived there.

And if you need a sign, “Go west of St. Vincent, young man.”

All those with the correct answer will be entered into a raffle for a $25 gift certificate to Shanon’s Ice Cream. The Winner will be announced on Monday, Sept. 30.

Shannon’s awaits you, puzzler. Shannon’s Ice Cream 318 E. Fourth Street, scooping the dream daily from noon to 9 p.m. It’s across the street from the Civic Auditorium. Look for the boneshaker out front.

CONGRATULATIONS to Denise Ellis, last week’s winner!
