St. Mary’s Academy Launches New 2025 Summer Camp Adventure – Open to All Local Families

From St. Mary’s Academy:

The Dalles, Ore., May 27, 2025 — St. Mary’s Academy is thrilled to introduce its brand-new Summer Camp Adventure, created to give local families a fun, enriching, and accessible summer option for children ages 3 to 14.

Open to all children in the community, regardless of school enrollment, the program begins this June. It offers a flexible, engaging experience for families seeking something beyond the typical summer offerings.

With summer programs in the Mid-Columbia region often limited in scope and filling quickly, St. Mary’s designed this initiative to help bridge that gap.

Unlike many camps that focus narrowly on a single sport or activity, Summer Camp Adventure offers a diverse range of hands-on, themed sessions aimed at sparking curiosity, creativity, and connection.

The camp runs Tuesdays through Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with optional after-care available until 5:00 p.m. Each two-week session highlights a unique theme:

  • Session 1: Gardening & Cooking (June 17–19, 24–26)

  • Session 2: Recreational Sports (July 1–3, 8–10)

  • Session 3: STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (July 15–17, 22–24)

  • Session 4: GORGEous Outdoors – Nature Exploration & Water Play (July 29–31, August 5–7)

“This is more than just childcare — our goal is to offer meaningful, hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and creativity,” said Kim Koch, Principal at St. Mary’s Academy. “We want every child in our area to have the chance to grow, explore, and have fun this summer.”

Each session costs $250 per child and includes snacks. After-care is available for an additional $25 per day. Families are asked to provide lunch for their child.

Space is limited to 30 campers per group, and with strong community interest, sessions are expected to fill quickly. Registration deadlines are June 1 for Sessions 1 & 2 and July 1 for Sessions 3 & 4, or until filled.
