By Joshuah Albert

The Dalles, Ore., July 23, 2024 — A Sweep Master lost control and rolled down Case Street near the Wasco County Courthouse today, ultimately flipping and coming to a stop in the middle of E. 7th Street.

The incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. when the transmission line popped loose as the Sweep Master was traveling uphill, causing it to roll backward and lose control on the steep road.

The driver, an employee of The City of The Dalles, did not appear to be injured but was taken to the hospital for precautionary evaluation.

The Dalles Police Department blocked off E. 7th Street until the site was cleared. The road is now open.
