Suspect Taken into Custody After Discharging Firearm Near Neighbor’s Residence

William Jones, a 69-year-old resident of Skamania, has been taken into custody after discharging his firearm near his neighbor’s residence. The incident occurred on the early morning of February 20, 2023, on Little Road in Skamania, Washington.
According to reports, at around 4:15 AM, the Skamania County Sheriff's Office received a call about a subject discharging a firearm while standing in the middle of the road. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies found Jones standing in the middle of Little Road, holding a .357 revolver and yelling.
The deputies ordered Jones to comply with their commands, and after he cooperated, they took him into custody. Further investigation revealed that there was enough probable cause to arrest him for one count of Aiming/Discharging of a Firearm and four counts of Reckless Endangerment.
Jones was transported to the Skamania County Correctional Facility, where he was booked on the charges. The incident has left the neighborhood shaken, and authorities are still investigating the motive behind the shooting. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported during the incident.
As of press time, William Jones remains in custody, and authorities are still investigating the incident.
