A free watch party in Hood River will celebrate Oregonians 75 and older making a difference, highlighting community impact and challenging ageism.

A free community watch party in The Dalles will give residents a chance to take part in this year’s Ageless Awards, a statewide celebration recognizing Oregonians seniors age 75 and older who pack a big volunteer punch and smash the stereotypes about aging.

2600 years ago, Chinese philosopher Confucius championed that respect, obedience, and care for one's parents and elderly family members are the root of humanity. Some local seniors are turning that principle on its ear reaching deep into their 70s and 80s to continue to care for others and put thousands of hours into community service.
