Thunderstorms early yesterday morning brought isolated rainfall and lightning with no new fire starts detected near the Whisky Creek Fire. Firing operations were attempted in the northeast corner of the fire, but conditions on the ground were not receptive to fire.
Ian Castaneda, 17, of The Dalles hit the new mountain bike skills course next to Safeway in The Dalles on Sunday, Aug. 6. He and brother Edgar, 12, said they were out having a little fun on the track while temps were still cool in the morning.

CGCC is now taking applications for its new dormitory, Chinook Residence Hall. The building features some incredible views and good energy with blues, whites and light wood tones. The building will be able to house 50 students in its current configuration. Read and SEE more here.
