Dufur School recognizes seniors with $135k in scholarships; more to come at Saturday's graduation
Dufur School welcomed the incoming class of Freshman on Wednesday, June 1, and also recognized seniors with Scholarship Awards of $135,000. Superintendent, Jack Henderson, asked the seniors if they realized how special these circumstances were at Dufur School, and all of the graduates nodded enthusiastically.

“Over the years, Google has taken the time to learn about the issues important to our community,” said The Dalles Mayor Rich Mays. “And we’re glad to see the company’s continued support of local solutions created to address local needs.”
Dufur students go big in career & tech training
Students take on excavators, bulldozers, articulated loaders and graders as they try on careers with Dufur Schools Career and Technical Education. The program looks to fit natural skills to career paths through a series of different opportunities in aviation, health sciences, construction, heavy equipment and more.

Secretary of State puts the fight in Friday Night Lights vaccination at Wahtonka Field
Oregon’s Secretary of State, Shemia Fagan a product of Dufur and The Dalles High school turned out for the North Central Public Health’s Friday Night Lights mass vaccination for high school students at Wahtonka Field in The Dalles. Fagan compared vaccinations to stacking sandbags in the 1996 flood in The Dalles, both an effort to protect and save our community.
Dufur School going big megabytes with new line
Dry Canyon Electric’s Chuck Rystedt watched as his son, Zack dug into a 24-foot pole with his spikes on Thursday morning on Highway 197 near 5-Mile Road. Meanwhile, Zach Reid used a “lasher” to entwine two cables as they were finishing a fiber optic line that runs 15 miles from Dufur School to the Columbia Gorge ESD at the Columbia Gorge Community College Campus in The Dalles.
