A Trifecta for the Dufur Ranger Golfers in Inaugural Season

The Dufur Rangers women’s golf team is on a role, besting multiple schools with three first place finishes. Dufur even hosted its first tournament at The Dalles Country Club.

The Dufur Rangers women’s golf team is on a role, besting multiple schools with three first place finishes. Dufur even hosted its first tournament at The Dalles Country Club.

The Dufur Rangers’ women’s team took another first-place in their second competition at the Heppner Invitational held at Willow Creek County Club Thursday, April 29th. 

Taking first once again, the women, with a team score of 393, was lead by Tora Timinsky (74), who finished with the individual medalist honor, and Piper Neal (103) second place along with Nellie Wilkinson (4th place), Hannah Kortge (5th Place), Molly Cochenour (7th place), and Audrey Anderson (8th place).  Teams from Heppner, Wallowa, Enterprise, Hood River, Echo and Dufur competed.

The Ranger men’s team competed in their first team event at Hepner finishing 4th place with a Team Score of 482.  Lead by Tyson Byers shooting his low round of the season (17th Place), Alex Barrett (19th place), Peyton Neal (22nd Place) and Konner Donovan (23rd Place).

Continuing their winning streak Friday at the Dufur Invitational the Rangers’ women’s team took their third 1st-place team finish at The Dalles Country Club, where Dufur hosted their first-ever invitational tournament. Teams from Heppner, Echo, The Dalles and Wallowa participated.

The Ranger women finished with a Team Score of 435.  They were led by Tora Timinsky (82), who finished with the individual medalist honor for the third event in a row.  Nellie Wilkinson finished in 3rd place (106), Hannah Kortge (T-6th Place), Piper Neal (8th Place), Audrey Anderson (9th place) and Molly Cochenour (10th place).  The Ranger men’s team finished in 3rd place with a team score of 548.  Lead by Alex Barrett (8th place), Tyson Byers (T-9th Place) Peyton Neal (17th Place) and Konner Donovan (T-20th Place).

The Rangers’ next golf tournament will be this coming Friday (May 7th) at the Milton-Freewater Invitational.

The Dufur Ranger Golfers are coached by Travis Kane of The Dalles Country Club.  Travis is celebrating his 26th season in the golf industry.  Travis Kane has been a PGA member professional for twelve years with American Development Model (ADM) certifications. He is also a certified Operation 36® Coach and a SNAG® Golf Instructor enhancing his ability to teach golf to beginners.
