North Wasco County Education Foundation Awards Over $6,700 in Fall Classroom Mini-Grants
The North Wasco County Education Foundation (NWCEF) is proud to announce the recipients of its Fall 2024 Classroom Mini-Grants. This year, NWCEF is awarding over $6,700 in grants to support innovative projects that foster enriched educational experiences and community engagement for students across the North Wasco County School District.

A new partnership centering around civic engagement has been formed at Washington Gorge Action Programs (WAGAP). Recently, Cristian Olivares and Ben Noble have been made co-directors on a mission to engage low-income residents as partners in building thriving communities.
Grant Opportunity Opens for Early Learning and Family Engagement
Organizations dedicated to serving families and children in five Columbia Gorge counties now have the opportunity to apply for grants aimed at enhancing early learning and family engagement. The Four Rivers Early Learning and Parenting Hub announced a new funding initiative targeting Hood River, Sherman, Gilliam, Wheeler, and Wasco counties, focusing on prenatal services, parent education, kindergarten readiness, and family engagement.
Parks & Rec lands sweet trick with $300k grant for pump track, bowl at TD Skate Park
National Park Service pulls out a game changer with matching grant money to help construct the long sought-after asphalt pump track and concrete bowl for skaters. They will be new additions to The Dalles Skate Park next to Aquatic Center on W. Second Street, The Dalles.
Students to get hit with a Roundhouse... Grant, that is, for tools at CGCC Skill Center
With this grant, Advanced Manufacturing students now have a welding jacket, angle grinder, a ball-peen hammer, vice grips and clamps. Construction Technology students receive a hardhat, headlamp and other safety equipment they’ll need for class and job site. Plus, all the students receive $160 to purchase work boots.
