“We’ve honored students for championships in track, softball and honor roll,” said Mayor Rich Mays before handing out certificates. “I don’t think we have honored people quite like you and the way you swept the Oregon State Robotics Championships.”

It wasn’t easy. It took Chase Sam two cycles of applications, several years of effort, and multiple interviews with state senators and congressmen, but he has now realized his long-cherished dream. Chase said his experience with the Wasco County 4-H & TDMS underwater robotics (ROV) program and high school football helped prepare him for the Academy.

Dufur, OR – Gorge robotics students from The Dalles, Dufur and Hood River competed at the Dufur Hat Tip to Service VEX Robotics Tournament that took place on November 13. They did not disappoint.
