Sherman County 4-H Day Camp Wraps Up Two Days of Outdoor Education and Excitement
The Sherman County 4-H Day Camp held June 12 and June 13 at Camp Morrow lakeside facility in Wamic resulted in many happy campers! Thirty campers, nine teen counselors, and eleven adult staff and instructors gave the youth an active, educational, and fun outdoor experience outdoors on Pine Hollow Reservoir.

“Hold On To Your Hat!” was the theme for the 2023 Sherman County Fair, with Grand Marshalls Steve and Anita Kock and Royalty Violet Woods. Sherman County 4-H and FFA members entered a variety of competitions, with Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion winners listed below:
Sherman 4-H, OSU extension hike 35 into outdoor school near Goldendale
The camp focus was “Not all classrooms have four walls”, and campers had outdoor education on delved into some interesting topics. They learned about bees and pollinators, Leave No Trace when in the outdoors, stream health, hiking to look at flora/fauna/insects, and archery. And, of course, there was singing and games and field activities. And don’t forget the Goldendale Pool.
