Voluntary Water Restrictions Start September 8, 2026

As a precaution, the City will implement a Stage 1 Water Restriction Advisory beginning September 8, 2026, the day after Labor Day. Customers are asked to voluntarily reduce water use to help extend the City’s surface water supply until fall rains return, which is anticipated in mid-October.

The City of The Dalles is inviting community members to help name the new Downtown Plaza currently under construction on Federal Street. Designed as a welcoming public gathering space, the Plaza will provide a place for residents and visitors to gather, relax, attend community events, and enjoy downtown.

End of the Detour: Webber Street Set for Permanent Reopening as Utility Project Nears Completion

After months of detours, rock excavation and business disruptions, Webber and West First streets are expected to reopen permanently June 26, restoring a key route into The Dalles' Port district.
