Gorge STEM Fair Returns With New Locations

Calling all families with children ages 12 and under! The 2022 Gorge STEM Fair is happening on Saturday, June 4th, 2022. This free, outdoor, family event centers on all things STEM in the Gorge, from making your own creations to learning about local companies and careers. Every booth has something hands-on for children and caregivers to explore together. STEM stands for “Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math;” skillsets that are naturally connected and increasingly crucial in our modern world.

Columbia Gorge Education District Receives $200K Grant to Diversify Access to Career Technology Education

Across the state and in the Columbia Gorge, boys outnumber girls roughly three to one in engineering-related courses. Students of color are similarly underrepresented in those courses. Now over $200,000 of investment is headed to Hood River County and South Wasco County school districts in the Gorge to diversify access to engineering, computer science, and advanced manufacturing courses.
