TD Kiwanis announce October programs

The Dalles Kiwanis Club is holding virtual noon meetings on Thursdays during this stay-at-home time.  Log on between 11:45 and 1 p.m. at TheDallesKiwanisZoom.us  Programs coming up:

— Oct. 1 is David Benko of the Neon Sign Museum on the Walldog Mural Project.

— Oct. 8 is Scott Baker from Wasco County Parks and Recreation on the Sorosis Park plan.

— Oct. 15 is the annual meeting and induction of new officers.

— Oct. 22 County Commissioner Kathy Schwartz will give an update on Wasco County.

— Oct. 29 City Manager Julie Kruger brings an update on City of The Dalles.

Karl Vercouteren

Karl Vercouteren came to The Dalles in 1977 to become pastor of United Church of Christ Congregational. Early on he joined Cascade Singers and the Original Courthouse board, reflecting life-long interests in music and history. Since retirement in 2008 he has taken on several projects writing about local history.
