Students across The Dalles returned to almost regular School today, Monday, Aug. 30 as classes are meeting in full and teachers and staff are now instructing in person.

It has been about 18 months since this has been possible, due to the pandemic.

Henrietta Dill, a third-grader in Ms. Stewart’s third-grade class was all smiles under her mask this morning as her father Matt dropped her off on a bustling East 19th St.

Students at The Dalles High School were also trickling in this morning as the freshmen class received a day to themselves to get familiar with the school prior to the entire student body returns on Tuesday.

A similar situation was occurring at The Dalles Middle School, where the sixth-grade class got a chance to roam the halls and learn their classrooms without the distraction of seventh- and eighth-grade students. Those classes will have their first day on Tuesday as well.

Back to reality - High School Students - freshman only- returned to school today. Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors will start on Tuesday, Aug. 31.
