The Dalles, Ore., Oct. 22, 2026 — The Beautification & Tree Committee is pleased to recognize Manuel and Leticia Elias with the October Beautification Award for their beautiful garden at 401 W 10th Street.

Committee members selected the property for its beautiful, well-groomed landscape and the care evident throughout the garden. Though small in size, the landscape stands out to those traveling along West 10th Street, a major route across town.

Manuel, the primary gardener, maintains the garden with love and attention. “I enjoy working in my garden because it helps me relax. It also makes me proud when people compliment my yard, and that brings me joy,” he shared.

The Beautification Award recognizes residents and property owners who help enhance the appearance of The Dalles through landscaping, gardening, and ongoing property care. These efforts contribute to the beauty and character of neighborhoods throughout the community.

The Beautification & Tree Committee congratulates Manuel and Leticia Elias and thanks them for helping make The Dalles a more beautiful and welcoming community. This is the final Beautification

Award of the 2026 season. The program will return next year.
