The Dalles, Ore., May 21, 2026 — The Dalles Public Pool has reopened for the summer season, welcoming swimmers back to the water with weekend open swim sessions through June 15 before transitioning to daily operations.

The pool is currently open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Beginning June 15, the facility will expand to a seven-day-a-week schedule as schools dismiss for summer break and demand for recreational swimming increases.

Opening weekend brought sunny skies and warm temperatures, drawing families, children, and swimmers of all ages to the community facility. Lifeguards were stationed throughout the pool as visitors enjoyed the water slide, diving board, and open swimming areas.

During weekend operations, the facility is dedicated entirely to open swim. The format allows swimmers of all ages and abilities to enjoy the pool's full range of attractions and amenities.

Visitors have access to the entire facility during open swim, including the deep end, shallow end, four lap swim lanes, the waterslide, diving board and aqua climbing wall.

The public pool serves as one of the area's most popular summer recreation destinations, providing residents with opportunities for exercise, water safety, family activities and relief from rising temperatures during the Gorge's hottest months.

Pool officials encourage visitors to review facility rules, supervise children appropriately and follow lifeguard instructions while using the facility.
