The Heights Streetscape Plan: Public Hearing to Consider Transportation System Plan Amendments

The Heights Streetscape Plan: Public Hearing to Consider Transportation System Plan Amendments

From City of Hood River:

Hood River, Ore., June 20, 2024 — The City of Hood River Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on July 1, 2024, to consider amendments to the City’s Transportation System Plan (TSP). The hearing will focus on transportation improvements recommended in The Heights Streetscape Plan, a transportation refinement plan that reflects three years of community input and public meetings.

The Planning Commission will vote on whether to recommend that City Council a) adopt the amendments as presented; b) adopt the amendments with certain conditions; or c) reject the amendments. After the Planning Commission reaches its recommendation, another public hearing will be scheduled at a later date for a City Council decision regarding the TSP amendments.

The amendments provide roadway design details, including changes to pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicle systems specific to the Heights Neighborhood. They consist of new and updated projects, revised cost estimates, and updated figures for implementing The Heights Streetscape Plan. The proposed action is an update to the City’s long-range transportation policy and network in response to the community’s desire to achieve and fund a complete, safe, and connected multimodal transportation network in The Heights.

The Heights Streetscape Plan is available for review on the Heights Urban Renewal District webpage at cityofhoodriver.gov/urban-renewal/heights/.

Materials for the hearing may be requested seven days in advance. For information on how to provide testimony during the public hearing, to observe the hearing, or for any other additional information or questions, please contact Associate Planner Jacob Harner (j.harner@cityodhoodriver.gov or 541-387-5215).
