Working Hands Beer celebrates with new release, live music
A new Marzen-style beer called “Vollmond” is the latest from the folks at Working Hands Beer on the Heights in Hood River. (Without the Marzen context I thought they were celebrating one of the Harry Potter Characters). Celebrate the release of this full-bodied Bavarian lager and the Grand re-Opening of the Taproom on Saturday, Oct. 30, starting at noon. The party continues until 10 p.m. - expect live music with Red Robe Revival, Jeff Carrell & Victor Johnson, Megan Alder, and headliner country act Zac Grooms. Lots of fun activities and local business support will be on hand for the day. Beer Garden area 21+ only.
‘Collision of Rhythm’ at Civic Nov. 9
Mid-Columbia Community Concert Association welcomes “Collision of Rhythm” to The Dalles Civic Auditorium on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. Doors and Club 22 will open at 6 p.m. food and drinks are available.
Collision of Rhythm is a duo composed of tap-dancing classical virtuoso Aaron Williams and beatbox-juggling keynote speaker, Bronkar Lee. Though there are only two of them, they fill the stage as a 12-person ensemble would, moving from instrument to instrument with a high level of skill and diversity.
With drumming, tap dancing, rhythmic juggling, marimba, piano, saxophone, flute and so much more, the show has been described as “Stomp meets Blue Man meets Cirque du Soleil.”
The pure joy that music and rhythm has instilled within these two humans is extended to every audience member throughout the performance. Between choreographed musical pieces, there is audience interaction, humor, and personal stories that make this show all at once captivating, inspiring, and flat-out extraordinary.
Tickets are available at Klindt’s Booksellers, Lines of Designs, online at www.mccca.info or at the door.
