Celebrate the Life of a most treasured actor and iconic national personality with a contribution to Home at Last animal shelter in honor of the legacy of Betty White. Make a contribution through Monday, Jan. 17 (the 100th Birthday Celebration) and funds will aid shelter facilities, play yards, kennels, and more.

‘Legato,’ Yak Attack return to River City
On Friday, Jan. 14, Legato Gusto returns to Hood River’s River City Saloon. The five-piece band promises Boogie, Rock and Swing. 9 p.m. start. ‘African Queen’ at Granada Theater
Moviegoers can travel back to 1951 for Humphrey Bogart’s award-winning performance in “African Queen,” on Friday, Jan. 21, at the Granada Theater in The Dalles. The Technicolor Classic also featured Katherine Hepburn. Doors 5:30 p.m., show at 6 p.m. Get Ready to Melt With You? Recent Marquee Signage indicates the 80s pop band Modern English is planning a concert on June 11 at the Granada and preliminary research shows The Dalles is on the band’s 2022 tour schedule! Let’s hope the Snow Melts by Then!

Winter Music Festival of The Gorge Jan. 22
Winter Music Festival of The Gorge is a benefit for music programs in Hood River area schools, specifically the Matt Klee Memorial Fund, developed to celebrate Matt Klee’s life and dedication to bringing kids the experience of live music. Bands will include The Groove Cabin, The Junebug Boys, The Isolated Oscillators and the HRVHS Choir. Concert runs on Saturday, Jan. 22, from 2-8 p.m. at The Ruins in Hood River. Tickets $12 in advance at https://www.tickettomato.com/event/7367 and the venue has COVID policies in place.

The Dalles Art Center highlights ‘All Together’ project
A video showcasing photomontage artist Beth Kerschen and painter Chris Pothier collaborating on the mural project “All Together The Dalles'' is a behind the scenes look at how artists are working on an unique mural that brings the look of downtown buildings and the sweeping landscape of the surrounding area together into a whole New View.
