Truck wreck closes Hood River Bridge today, July 21; Inspections for damage underway
The Dalles, Ore., July 21, 2026 — The Hood River-White Salmon Bridge was fully closed beginning at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday while crews removed a semi-truck involved in an incident and inspected the bridge for possible damage, according to the Port of Hood River.
Port officials said the closure is necessary to allow crews to safely remove the truck and assess the bridge's structural condition.
Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes until the bridge reopens.
The Port of Hood River said additional updates will be posted on its website as more information becomes available.
